Ms. Anu Aggarwal currently heads [ Conglomerates and Corporate Groups] at the Corporate Bank at Kotak Mahindra Bank. She is responsible for P&L originating from Lending, Transaction Banking, Foreign Exchange, DCM, ECM and advisory across corporate clients on a pan India basis. She has been instrumental in building the corporate franchise of the Bank and is also a member of the Kotak Leadership Team. She has been chosen amongst ET’s ‘Women Ahead’ for the year 2016.

He has played a vital role in defining and developing India’s banking & financial sector over three decades. Mr. Kotak leads several key industry bodies and is currently Co-Chairman of the Indo-UK Financial Partnership (IUKFP) and Chairman of the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Board of India’s advisory committee on Corporate Insolvency and Liquidation. He is on the International Advisory Panel of Monetary Authority of Singapore, the International Advisory Board of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. He was President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from June 2020 until May 2021. From October 2018 to April 2022, Mr. Kotak also served as Non-Executive Chairman of a specially constituted board of IL&FS (a state-funded non-banking financial company) by the Government of India to steer IL&FS out of a deep crisis, which he served as his national duty. In 2017, a Committee on Corporate Governance constituted by SEBI under the leadership of Mr. Kotak recommended sweeping changes towards more robust and transparent corporate governance in corporate India.

With her extensive experience and strategic insights, she drives the growth of Investment Banking and Institutional Equities business.

With over 30 years of association with Kotak Mahindra Group, Ms. Ekambaram has been instrumental in successfully setting up and scaling several business units including the Consumer Bank, Corporate and Investment Banking. 

Ms. Ekambaram has been recognized as one of the ‘Most Powerful Women in Indian Business’ (2013-2017, 2019 and 2020) by Business Today and featured among Fortune India’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business (2016-2020 and 2023). She received the ‘CA Business Leader’ award from ICAI in 2020 and was listed by ET x Femina among the Promising Women Leaders of India 2022. Ms. Ekambaram serves on the board of IIM Bangalore and was a member of the FICCI National Committee on Banking. She is a dedicated philanthropist & has received several accolades for her contributions.

Before joining Kotak Mahindra Group, Ms. Ekambaram had a short stint with Bank of Nova Scotia - a Canadian International Bank, with their corporate banking and treasury division.


Ms. Ekambaram is a certified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant.

Mr. S. Ramesh is Managing Director & CEO, Kotak Investment Banking.


Mr. S. Ramesh joined the Kotak Mahindra Group in 1995. With a career spanning more than three decades, he is known as a respected and influential figure in the investment banking industry in India and has formed strong relationships with leading corporates and key regulators. 


Prior to being appointed MD & CEO in 2015, Mr. Ramesh was Joint Managing Director of Kotak Investment Banking.


Under his leadership, Kotak Investment Banking has established and reinforced its standing as a pioneer and leader in the Indian equity capital markets. He has been closely involved in key initiatives that have contributed to the development of the Indian capital markets and has worked on a number of landmark initiatives and product innovations.


Mr. Ramesh has extensive experience in equity financing – encompassing private equity and public markets. He has been involved in many landmark transactions across a wide range of situations and complexities.


Mr. Ramesh is a people's person. He strongly believes in the power of teamwork and follows a philosophy of empowering people and being open to new ideas. 


In the past, Mr. Ramesh has been a member of various SEBI Committees, including Disclosures and Accounting Standards (SCODA), Committee on Reviewing Disclosures and Application forms (CRDA), Chairman on the committee on RPTs and many more. He is currently a member of Primary Markets Advisory Committee (PMAC) and he is also a member of the committee on Demystifying Offer Documents set up by SEBI.


Mr. Ramesh has also been nominated as the representative for all Kotak group-wide SEBI related engagements since 2016. 


He is a chartered accountant (ACA, ACS, Grad CWA).

Sourav Mallik

Managing Director & Deputy CEO

Mr. Sourav Mallik, Managing Director & Deputy CEO and a Member of the Board of Directors at Kotak Investment Banking, has played a pivotal role in spearheading the investment banking business of the firm. He has been associated with Kotak since 1999.

A member of the Kotak Leadership Group Team, Mr. Mallik has extensive experience dealing with India Inc, financial sponsors & international corporates and advising them on M&A advisory, capital raising, and deal structuring, and corporate restructuring and valuations for both domestic and cross border transactions. 

Some of the landmark deals that he has spearheaded include ING Vysya's merger with Kotak Mahindra Bank and subsequent divestment of stake by ING, Tech Mahindra's acquisition of Satyam and subsequent consolidation/buyback, divestment of Star Health, merger-demerger of Birlasoft & KPIT Technologies to create two independently controlled listed entities, global merger of CIE Automotives international forging business with M&M's various auto component businesses, sale of a controlling interest in Signet to IMCD, sale of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals to Nirma. 

He has also advised many Indian and multinational companies on open offers, buybacks and delisting offers, including Infosys' multiple buybacks, S&P's conditional open offer for Crisil and iGate's delisting of Patni. 

Mr. Mallik has led Kotak's cross border advisory practice which include marquee deals such as Vodafone's merger with Idea, Ingenico's acquisition of Tech Process, Lafarge's acquisition of Raymond's cement business, CRH's JV with My Home Industries, Hitachi's acquisition of Prizm Payment Services, and Kokuyo's acquisition of Camlin, Air Water’s acquisition of certain Indian business from the Praxair-Linde combine.

He was a member of the SEBI's Takeover Regulations Advisory Committee, which recommended the current Takeover Regulations for Indian listed companies.

Mr. Mallik loves food and travel and enjoys Japanese & Mediterranean cuisine. With a collection of over 100 board games, he loves playing board games with his wife and two daughters in his spare time.

He brings a multi-disciplinary background, being an engineer (IIT, Delhi) and MBA (IIM, Ahmedabad) with over 28 years of experience in investment banking.

Mr. Jayasankar is a capital markets veteran and has been instrumental in Kotak Investment Banking establishing leadership role in ECM business across IPOs, follow-ons and blocks and Kotak Investment Banking’s equity business has been consistently ranked No. 1 in various league tables.

As the Whole Time Director, Mr. Jayasankar has worked on several pioneering and industry-defining transactions that have helped strengthen Kotak Investment Banking's leadership position in the industry.
His deep experience and insightful views on India’s equity capital markets, makes him a go to advisor for companies and stakeholders participating in the capital markets.

Mr. Jayasankar is a B.Tech from IIT, Madras and PGDBM from IIM, Bangalore.

She has been chosen amongst ET’s ‘Women Ahead’ for the year 2016. 

Ms. Aggarwal has over 25 years of experience in handling large corporate clients. She worked with the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Team at Citibank for over a decade, before joining the Kotak Group in 2007.

She holds an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai.
