Kotak Investment Banking affiliates in USA and UK were the first Indian owned companies to register with FINRA (formerly NASD) in the US and the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in the UK. Managing Director & CEO

S Ramesh is Managing Director & CEO, Kotak Investment Banking. Ramesh joined the Kotak Mahindra Group in 1995. Over a career spanning more than two decades, Ramesh is a respected and influential figure in the investment banking industry in India and has formed strong relationships with leading corporates and key regulators. Prior to being appointed MD & CEO, Ramesh was Joint Managing Director of Kotak Investment Banking. Under his leadership, Kotak Investment Banking has established and reinforced its standing as a pioneer and leader in the Indian equity capital markets. Ramesh has been closely involved in key initiatives that have contributed to the development of the Indian capital markets and has worked on a number of landmark initiatives and product innovations. Ramesh has extensive experience in equity financing – encompassing private equity and public markets. He has been involved in diverse transactions across a wide range of situations and complexities. As the head of the equity financing business at Kotak Investment Banking, he is credited with building the franchise of the firm and guiding it to a position of strength.

Sourav Mallik
Joint Managing Director

Sourav Sourav Mallik is Joint Managing Director, Kotak Investment Banking and heads the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory practice Sourav joined Kotak Mahindra Group in 1999. He is a specialist in M&A Advisory, Deal Structuring, Restructuring and Valuations, for both domestic and cross border transactions. Some of the landmark deals that Sourav has spearheaded include ING Vysya's merger with Kotak Mahindra Bank and subsequent divestment of stake by ING, Tech Mahindra's acquisition of Satyam and subsequent consolidation/buyback, divestment of Star Health, merger-demerger of Birlasoft & KPIT Technologies to create two independently controlled listed entities, global merger of CIE Automotives international forging business with M&M's various auto component businesses. He has also advised many Indian and multinational companies on open offers, buybacks and delisting offers, including Infosys' multiple buybacks, S&P's conditional open offer for Crisil and iGate's delisting of Patni.

V Jayasankar is Senior Executive Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets at Kotak Investment Banking. Jayasankar has been with Kotak Mahindra Group for 25 years. He has worked in diverse areas within investment bank encompassing Capital Markets, Private Equity, and M&A. Jayasankar has advised and raised equity finance for several companies belonging to marquee conglomerate groups such as Aditya Birla, Godrej, HDFC, Mahindra & Mahindra, State Bank, Tata, among others. Jayasankar has been instrumental in Kotak Investment Banking establishing leadership role in ECM business across IPOs, follow-ons and blocks. Pankaj Kalra
Senior Executive Director

Pankaj Kalra joined Kotak Investment Banking in 2013 as Senior Executive Director. Pankaj is responsible for leading coverage across a number of sectors including large corporates, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, infrastructure and telecom/media. In addition, he also leads the Financial Sponsors Group (FSG) spearheading transactions involving leading private equity and hedge funds. Pankaj is a highly experienced banker and has close to 2½ decades of investment banking experience in India and globally, advising on M&A and capital market transactions across a wide range of industries. Pankaj joined Kotak from Credit Suisse Securities India where he was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division. Pankaj is a Chartered Accountant and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
